He started his career in the M&A and International Tax team, where he gained extensive experience with a range of mid-cap and larger transactions. He is now fully part of the International Tax team, advising internationally operating groups on a broad spectrum of Dutch and cross-border tax matters. His clients are active in various sectors, including retail, technology, construction and real estate development, industry and the financial sector. Zafer specializes in corporate income tax, dividend withholding tax and other withholding taxes, with a particular focus on international structures and reorganisations. His background in the M&A practice enables him to combine technical knowledge of international tax law with hands-on experience in transactions and restructurings. A key part of his practice is advising Turkish multinationals with activities in or through the Netherlands. Zafer heads our Turkey country desk and is also a member of the Middle East country desk. In these roles, he supports international businesses on Dutch and cross-border tax matters and works closely with local tax teams and advisers in multiple jurisdictions.
