ESG: Our impact plan for sustainable and responsible business

At Meijburg, we view ESG not only as a responsibility, but also as an opportunity to contribute to a sustainable future.

Our Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) approach, based on the pillars Planet, People, Prosperity and Governance, integrates social and environmental considerations into our core activities. These pillars form the foundation of our continuously evolving policy, through which we strive for positive impact and sustainable growth.

Planet

We aim to reduce our environmental footprint. To do so, we follow a dual-track strategy focused on both reduction and compensation of CO₂ emissions. We take various measures to reduce our emissions, improve energy efficiency and promote waste reduction. Concrete examples include making our offices more sustainable, separating waste streams and electrifying our vehicle fleet. In addition, since 2009 we have been offsetting residual CO₂ emissions through the Gold Standard, the leading global quality standard for offsetting projects.

People

We are committed to a diverse and inclusive organization in which employees feel respected and valued. Our Diversity & Inclusion objectives are translated into initiatives and training that promote equal opportunities and a safe working environment. Through our extensive Learning & Development programme, we offer a challenging and development-focused work environment. As a knowledge-based organization, we continuously invest in the development of our people, with specific attention to their mental and physical well-being.

Prosperity

Meijburg is a knowledge organization. Quality and high-value advice are our priorities. For us, knowledge is not only about educating, developing and coaching talent, but also about taking responsibility for prosperity and well-being. Our approach focuses on projects that are closely connected to our business activities, such as education, talent development, social innovation and well-being. We support the cultural sector through our sponsorship programme, because culture connects and inspires us and forms the basis for innovation. We also initiate various community projects every year and encourage our employees to actively contribute to society. To this end, we have established the Make It Happen Fund Foundation together with KPMG.

Governance

A solid governance structure forms the backbone of our organization. We uphold high standards of integrity, ethics and transparency in everything we do. Decision-making is open and fair, with clear accountability to our stakeholders. We also ensure strict compliance with laws and regulations.

We also integrate sustainable business practices into our day-to-day operations across the Planet, People and Prosperity pillars. Externally, we demonstrate our commitment through the advisory services of our ESG & Taxation team, which is an integral part of the global KPMG ESG network. This team plays an important role in guiding organizations on their sustainability journey by providing specialized expertise on ESG-related tax matters.
