Ugurcan has been working as an indirect tax specialist at Meijburg since 2016, providing VAT advice to a wide range of clients. His clients include international banks, insurance companies, asset managers and Dutch pension funds. He also advises financing and holding companies and start-ups/scale-ups on how they can reduce VAT risks and make the most of VAT opportunities.
Ugurcan also has broad experience with negotiating with the tax authorities, litigating, holding training sessions and assisting clients during VAT audits by the tax authorities. He also advises on company structuring and restructuring, centralization and mergers & acquisitions.
His strength as a specialist is his ability to make complex tax issues understandable. Together with his pragmatic approach, this is something that clients particularly appreciate. Ugurcan has represented clients before national judicial bodies as well as before the Court of Justice of the European Union; something he is proud of.
Ugurcan has been on secondment to KPMG Avocats in Paris, where he worked for French and international clients, thus enabling him to build up a strong network.
